Cloud Fundamentals: IaaS, PaaS, SaaS — Cloud Computing Explained in five minutes.
Cloud computing can feel overwhelming with all the acronyms and jargon, but it doesn’t have to be. In this video, we use a simple coffee analogy to explain the differences between Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS). We’ll start with the traditional on-premise model, where you manage everything yourself, then move into IaaS where the cloud provider handles the physical infrastructure while you manage the rest. From there, we’ll simplify things further with PaaS, where the provider takes care of the platform so you can focus on building and running your apps. Finally, we’ll look at SaaS, the ultimate in convenience, where everything is managed for you and you just log in and use the software.
This breakdown is perfect if you’re preparing for the Microsoft AZ-900 exam, exploring AWS Cloud or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, or just looking to answer the question “what is cloud computing?” By the end of this video, you’ll have a clear understanding of cloud fundamentals and be able to explain IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS to anyone.
