This video goes over how to use an Azure DNS Private Resolver and Inbound Endpoints with Azure Private DNS zones. These two services allow us to resolve private endpoints from an on-premises server. We no longer need to deploy DNS servers in Azure to bridge on-premises and Windows DNS with Azure DNS. We can leverage the Azure DNS Private Resolver PaaS service to handle DNS lookups for Azure.

Hi Travis
Love your videos. I have a problem I hope you can help me with. I set up my private resolver and inbound endpoint as described. I however, and connecting from my laptop via VPN (and not from another VM in azure). I’m using a P2S VPN. I got name resolution working fine in a private zone. However, when I disconnected the VPN, and then re-connected, I could never get name resolution to work again (using nslookup). Could you please provide some insight into how to configure this correctly? Thanks.
